The Tai Chi Center – Phuket offers a unique experience to study the
ancient healing and martial arts of Chi Gung and Tai Chi Ch’uan.

Located in a private, hide-away lush garden in the seaside village of
Kamala Beach, Phuket, the teachings are based on the ancient Chinese
philosophy known as the “Tao”.
The most famous literary expression of the Tao was written by the mythical sage Lao Tzu , 6th century B.C. The classic explains through poetic metaphor that by aligning with the forces of nature one will create harmony and well-being both within oneself and the greater society.

Taoism is based on experience and expressed in a life of simplicity in conduct, in beliefs, and in environment. This brings one very close to the truth of reality. An attraction to simplicity is essentially an attraction to freedom – the highest expression of personal power.
In the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu compels us to use intuition as an equal partner with logic. We call this a ‘whole-mind’ approach, both hemispheres of the brain working together. In this way, we gain a complete, holistic and precise view of reality.
As early as the reign of the Yellow Emperor, Huang Di, 2690 B.C., the highest authority on traditional Chinese medicine, the Wudang mountains in China’s Hubei Province were highly regarded as a Taoist center of learning. The Taoist priests practiced the internal alchemy exercises and meditations that led to enlightenment.

By the 12th century A.D., the famous Taoist sage Chang San Feng, after many years studying the Shaolin fighting arts, followed the footpaths to Wudang mountain to further his studies of Taoist internal alchemy. From his meditative revelations he created the Wudang-Shaolin fighting system known as Wudang Kung Fu, or Tai Ch’i Chuan. This new system incorporated the physically demanding stances of the Shaolin fighting arts, along with the soft yielding philosophical understanding of the Tao.
The Tai Chi Center, Phuket explores the mental & physical applications of this unique martial art. Individuals that are attracted to this path are the ones ready to begin a new phase of their personal growth.
